Long time no post!

Evan!!!!!

5 years old today!!!!
(and the not so happy model of this project!)

Been a while since I posted here.

I made my very first template and posted it on ILP! Here is the link…thought I would share.

It is a black half inch border (3/4 bottom). Directions are included as a layer. Be sure to turn visibility on once downloaded. Layers are turned off.

Photoshop this week?

Looking for project ideas.  Is there a project (or technique) you have always wanted to know how to do in photoshop (cs2)?    I don’t want to use up all my ideas that I have put together so far all at once……so bring on the thought processes!

 Post ideas!  THanKS!

Project 4 – Straighten photos

Photoshop CS2- Project 4—

Align Photo horizontally (or vertically)

This project will straighten a photo where your camera was not horizontally or vertically aligned. This project shows how to horizontally align, but this technique also works vertically.

Open Picture

Toolbar: select the Measure Tool
(often hidden under the eyedropper tool)

Draw line across horizontal line to straighten.

Image > Rotate Canvas > Arbitrary…

Rotate Canvas menu will open. The angle will be filled in because you drew the line with the measure tool. Click OK to accept.

Picture will shift to horizontal plane.

Crop picture as needed. Select Crop tool from toolbar

Draw box. Enter to accept crop. (right click > cancel if u change your mind)

Please leave comments!
This lets me know these projects are being used. Project suggestions welcome!

Photoshop CS2- Project 3—Black Border Action

Photoshop CS2- Project 3—Black Border Action

Open Picture

By habit…..I always try to remember to make a copy of my background (then close visibility on the original background layer) This gives me an original layer to go back to if need be.

Create New Action Set (if needed-or highlight action folder in list & skip this step)

Highlight the newly created folder (or other folder to use)

Create New Action
Have your steps of your action ready before you are ready to record them. Make a practice run before recording.
When ready, click the Record button.
Every step you do in PS now will be recorded until you press the stop button

Add .2 in black border

Add .2 in white border

Add 1 inch black border around whole frame

Add half inch to bottom border to balance if you choose—change to upper orientation

File > Save AS in your Action if you choose (or this option can be turned on in batch)
Keep same name(it will save as copy). I have and Action folder so all my actions batch to the same folder. Does not cause problems later if changes are made. I then go to that folder and move the images to their new folder

Set JPG options– OK

Stop Recording

Good practice to run new actions on single files first. Open a new pictures and use the play button on the Actions palette.

If everything is fine, then you may choose to run the action on a whole folder.

Batch run

Choose Batch settings. Make sure the correct action is selected. Check the include all subfolders if you have internal folders to also batch. Check Destination None since the save command is part of the action. OK to run.

My Zoo pictures I added a text field to this border.
